Brown Bag Deli in Alamogordo

Wanted to try this place because reviews said there were "mountains of meat". Ordered a six inch roast beef w cheese on French bread. What I received, had one small slice of roast beef, and about a half a slice of cheese...and it couldn't have been more than 4 inches. Bread was good, but since there was so little on it, of course I noticed it...

Just the best sandwiches! And, the staff is so friendly! Always my number one stop when I’m in Alamo. Please open a store in Albuquerque. We’d love to have you! 😃

Great sammies! Perfect size and combos, quality produce and meats, clean area, easy for takeaway or sit down. Respectable variety of chips too. Ordered the ultimate green Chile chicken club and DANG was is good. Keep on, y'all!

Nice local sandwich shop that have a wide range of different sandwich and toppings. The ingredient seem to be good quality and well put together. They also have a good sides, like their potato salad. The building is nice and clean with seating, during peak times the seating fills up fast. If you are looking for a good sandwich I would highly suggest Brown Bag, just do not call it a hoagie at the counter.

Delicious subs! Always quality food. They have a huge selection of sandwiches and have deals every day of the month. Staff is super friendly. Only advice. Be prepared to wait during the lunch hour. Call in your order if you are in a hurry!

Best sandwiches in town,good quality meats and chips. This sandwich joint is clean, well kept with friendly people. I like to come here for lunch but gets very busy around this time. I have always had a good experience here. Yes,I would definitely recommend this place.

Subs are great, and you have to try their potato salad, soups, and desserts too! I always call ahead to see what soups they are serving for the day. It changes daily.

I love Brown Bag Deli, they've got such a wide variety of sandwiches and they keep their condiment counter full of all kinds of peppers, pickles, everything you'd want to go with a great sub sandwich.

Best. Sandwiches. Hands. Down. Saddest part about moving away is not having Brown Bag! Whenever I’m back in town I ALWAYS stop and get me a fantastic sandwich. If you love a good, fresh sandwich stop by you won’t be disappointed.

Now this is a fantastic little gem to find. They use Boars Head meat. Every sandwich I have had do far has been delicious. I highly recommend trying to this if you happen to be in the area.

Talk about basic when it comes to the ambience not much outside either BUT...and yes it's a big but. The food is amazing! Stupindeous!! Mouth Watering!! I Enjoyed th number 28..Hamstrami small. It was the perfect size sandwich with the works. I also had to try the Broccoli soup talk about flavor! Bold robust Broccoli cheese and every bite better then the last. Clean and friendly staff. Correct order at a reasonable price. If your ever in Alamogordo you should stop here for lunch.

Definitely my favorite place to have a sub sandwich! Their soups are also really delicious. This place never disappoints me.

SUPER DELICIOUS fresh bread, greatly portioned amounts of meat, cheese, and extras. I got the #24. It had ham, cheese, turkey, pickles, lettuce, and mayo. Basic but yummy!

The sandwiches are amazing! Staff was not! Maybe they were all just having a bad day the last 2 x's we went in! The food though is delicious!

The guy who took my order has a great personality for customer service. He recommended the chicken club which was delicious, especially after I added some pepperoncini and pickles. I have paid a lot more for inferior food and service, if I lived here I would be a regular.

Really great sandwich place! Stopped here while coming through town and enjoyed my visit. Sandwich was made with fresh meat and came out fast. Staff was mostly friendly, can't recall the exact interaction, but the individual checking me out was not very attentive.

Delicious food at reasonable prices. Bread was so fresh and soft I could have just eaten that and been happy!!

The pros: the sub is large, hearty, and delicious. I definitely recommend adding the slaw, it's creamy and perfect on the sub.The cons: Service is so-so. Very friendly, but very slow. It took 30 minutes to get my sub, and there were just two orders ahead of me. Also, they didn't ask if I wanted the sub hot or toasted (I did), so I ended up having to heat it up in my oven when I got home. Second is the cost. The behemoth shown in the photo ran me $16, making it a significant bump up from their competitors (i.e. subway).

They make a tasty sandwich. It felt like a strange menu to this outsider, but I assume they know what their clientele want. No frills. I got the chicken and green chile sandwich. I liked that the French style roll was lightly toasted. The ambiance was... None. Straight forward small town sandwich shop with better than average meats.

Way better than your standard chain sub shop. Great specials and add-ons. Service was snappy. The place seems a bit dated on the inside.

The sandwiches here are always great, but the wait time is slow. I wish they had a few more staff to make sandwiches and one to take orders.
